- Saturday, April 5th 1:00-3:00PM Indiana Community can join IUP Students at the garden to prepare for the 2025 season as part of "Into the Streets," a day of IUP student volunteer projects. For more information, please email [email protected] to get in touch with our garden volunteer staff.

- 16: How to Prune Your Fruit Trees and Shrubs (1:00PM)- Charlie Venturella & Tom Nowak - Penn State Master Gardeners will teach the basics of pruning fruit trees and shrubs. Learn about various pruning techniques, as well as the use and care of pruning tools, on the shrubs at the Indiana Community Garden. Bring your pruning tools to try your hand at pruning. Tour the garden’s composting facilities, learn about the tools that are used, and how you can participate in the garden’s efforts to feed the soil and keep food waste out of the landfill. Get your questions answered about the difference between compostable and biodegradable products and why the garden can’t accept them.

- 5: Rise and Shine Yoga (10:00AM) - Join yoga instructor Katie Reed in the community garden for a free 45 minute class focused on connecting with nature and gentle movement. Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature as you learn the foundations of yoga asana, meditation, and various breathing techniques. All ages and all levels of yoga experience are welcome- even beginners! Bring a mat, towel or blanket for the dewy grass, and a water bottle.

The garden has a variety of needs that are met by the work of our lovely volunteers. We benefit strongly from the sense of community garnered at Indiana Community Garden and are able to produce food for our local food banks.
